FARO announces the FARO Cobalt 3D Imager, a professional 3D scanner for production environments


On january 14th 2016, FARO announced the availability of a new product called the FARO Cobalt 3D Imager. FARO is one of the biggest 3D scanner manufacturer and is based in Lake Mary, Florida (USA).

According to their blog the FARO Cobalt 3D Imager is ideal for integration inside a production environment. This 3D scanner is designed for the professional market and can be used in several configurations: with a rotary table, with a robotic arm or in array.

The FARO Cobalt 3D Imager uses the blue light structured light 3D scanning technology with stereo cameras of a 5 MegaPixels resolution. It is great for quality inspection and reverse engineering applications on parts, assemblies, or tools.

The FARO Cobalt 3D Imager is compatible with the full-featured FARO CAM2 Measure 10 metrology software.
