Industrial accuracy packed in an affordable 3D scanner

For a 3D scanner at this price point, the Polyga Compact S1 provides a high level of accuracy at 40 microns. That’s generally hard to come by unless you’re looking at industrial hardware.

Entry-level scanners also tend to be limited in terms of functionality, which makes them easy to use for beginners but potentially frustrating for enthusiasts. The Polyga Compact S1, however, combines the best of both worlds.

It is easy to set up and use, only requiring you to plug in a few cables, and the scanner is factory calibrated. The quick, straightforward setup is accompanied by Polyga’s comprehensive FlexScan3D 3D scanning software; it is known for being user-friendly but powerful enough for advanced users.

FlexScan3D is actually the same software that Polyga uses with their higher-end scanners. Once everything is installed, you can start capturing millions of 3D data points just by pressing a button.

A wide range of applications for the Compact S1

The scanner’s versatility is adapted for numerous use cases. 3D models produced by the Polyga Compact S1 are accurate enough to be used for reverse engineering applications to speed up the product design process, and even for basic quality inspection.

The scanner is also suitable for archiving, whether it’s for the arts, archeology, or any domain where it’s crucial to keep a record of important objects.

Other notable applications also include:

  • 3D modeling
  • Computer vision
  • 3D printing
  • 3D measurement
  • Comparison analysis

The Compact S1 is able to capture small parts with incredible accuracy of up to 40 microns.

How does the Polyga Compact S1 work?

Polyga Compact S1: how does it work?

Compact 3D scanners from Polyga use structured light 3D scanning technology. The scanner casts a light pattern onto the object to reveal its topography. Then, both of its cameras capture images of the light’s distortion.

FlexScan3D software processes the images and can calculate what the object’s surface– from one given angle– is like. To visualize its entire 3D shape, multiple images must be taken from 360° around the object.

The software stitches these multiple images together, resulting in an accurate, digital 3D model.
