The LENS 860 is now the Optomec LENS MTS 860.

With this metal 3D printer, Optomec aims to make large volume metal 3D printing more cost-effective and affordable.

LENS 860 MTS variations

This large volume metal additive manufacturing system is available in four different versions:

  • LENS 860 Hybrid Open Atmosphere System (with CNC mill)
  • LENS 860 Additive Open Atmosphere System (no CNC mill)
  • LENS 860 Hybrid Controlled Atmosphere System (controlled environment with CNC mill)
  • LENS 860 Additive Controlled Atmosphere System (controlled environment without CNC mill)

The build volume varies depending on if there is a CNC mill or not. LENS 860 systems with an open atmosphere system are suitable for 3D printing non-reactive materials (Stainless Steel, Cobalt, etc.), while a controlled atmosphere is necessary for metals like Titanium.
