Autodesk ReMake review

ReMake is a 3D scanning desktop software by the US developer Autodesk. Autodesk ReMake, formerly known as Autodesk Memento, uses photogrammetry technology to convert photos into high-definition 3D meshes.

The software uses an HD camera (smartphone cameras are eligible) to capture photos of an object. Then, the software stitches the 2D captures together to create the final 3D mesh. The more photos are taken, the better the mesh’s quality will be. This software’s interface is easy to use and the processing time is quick.

Autodesk ReMake main features

  • Mesh import: users can import and prepare meshes generated by other applications or 3D scanning software.
  • Mesh clean-up and fixing: the software allows users to edit their 3D meshes using custom ReMake tools. This makes it possible to 3D print the generated models.
  • Exports: final 3D scans are available in OBJ, STL, PLY, FBX and RCM formats for exporting.
  • Measurement tools: the software allows users to compare different meshes to evaluate the differences between them.

Autodesk ReMake price

The free version of ReMake imposes a processing limit of 50 photos per 3D scan.

The PRO version is able to process up to 250 photos per 3D scan. It is available for $300, although it is free for college and university students.
