Altergaze Goggles overview
The Altergaze Goggles are virtual reality goggles for smartphones made by Altergaze, a manufacturer based in London in England.
This VR viewer uses a smartphone to deliver a mobile VR experience. The Altergaze Goggles design is open-source and customizable. Therefore, users that own a 3D printer have the possibility to 3D print these VR goggles at home (apart from lenses and screws) and adapt its size for use with different smartphone sizes.
The user must hold the device up to their face, as it doesn’t come with any headstrap. This 110° FOV VR viewer boasts an easy access to the user’s smartphone in case they receive a phone call when in use.
Some users highlight a minor screen-door effect with this mobile VR viewer.
