HTC VIVE Focus Plus overview
The HTC VIVE Focus Plus is an enterprise-level standalone VR headset made by HTC, a famous tech manufacturer from Taiwan. This HMD is a follow-up to the HTC VIVE Focus.
VIVE Focus Plus vs. VIVE Focus
The main difference between the two VIVE Focus headsets is that the Plus version comes with 6DoF controllers (vs. 3DoF for the regular version). This provides users with more immersion, and allows content developers to easily make their PC-based VR apps compatible with the standalone VIVE Focus Plus.
In addition, the new Kiosk Mode allows users to block certain apps and/or features so that the headset can serve specific training or demonstration purposes. VIVE Enterprise also provides professional users with tools to secure accounts and easily manage VR devices in multiple locations.
The VR headset’s design is also meant to be more comfortable to wear compared to the HTC VIVE Focus.
VIVE Focus Plus main features
- Inside-out 6DoF: this wireless VR headset provides 6 degrees of freedom without the need for external sensors or lighthouses. This is possible thanks to the headset’s dual front cameras.
- 6DoF controller: HTC’s controllers use ultrasonic technology to enable 6DoF tracking without external sensors.
- Removable leather face cushion: enables users to easily clean the face cushion when necessary.
This all-in-one virtual reality headset also features a built-in microphone and speakers as well as a stereo audio jack.
