3D capture software

3D scanners are pieces of hardware used to capture the 3D shape of an object. However, 3D scanners cannot produce a useful output (such as a human-readable digital model or a 3D printed part) unless combined with at least one piece of 3D capture software.

3D capture comprises several categories of software used during the 3D scanning process, including drivers and hardware-specific software, scan-to-CAD software, point cloud processing software, photogrammetry software, CAD software and plugins, and smartphone 3D scanning apps.

Some developers offer end-to-end 3D capture suites, while others offer individual applications.
