Scantech KSCAN20 for industrial applications
Scantech’s KSCAN series is a comprehensive metrology solution that is adapted to a wide range of sectors, including aerospace and automotive industries where large-scale 3D scans are often required. This handheld scanner is just as capable of 3D scanning small objects, and anything in between.
It is equipped with two different laser modes: Standard mode R and Hyperfine mode B. These modes offer either efficiency or high resolution, depending on what’s more important for specific use cases.
The KSCAN20 can be paired with an optional probe for complex features like holes or small, intricate geometries. This professional 3D scanner may also be mounted on a robotic measuring arm to automate 3D scanning processes, namely for quality inspection or very large-scale scans. It can of course also be mounted on a tripod.

Highly flexible measuring range
The KSCAN20 offers an extensive measurement range, and can 3D scan anything from small objects like coins to large objects like cars or even planes.
Markers should be placed for medium to large objects, and an optional probe is available for intricacies.
This versatile 3D scanner features two different scanning modes, one for efficiency, and one for resolution.
The Standard mode uses 7 red laser crosses and one extra red line and is meant for quick yet efficient 3D scans. This mode offers an accuracy of 0.020 mm + 0.035 mm/m, a resolution of 0.05 mm, and an acquisition speed of up to 650,000 points per second.
For more detailed scans, the Hyperfine mode makes use of 5 blue parallel laser lines, narrowing the precision down to 0.010 mm + 0.035 mm/m, and providing an excellent resolution of 0.01 mm.
The KSCAN integrates photogrammetry technology in addition to its laser lines in order to improve volumetric accuracy, even on large-scale parts and objects. This also allows the scanner to expand its scan area to 2500 x 3000 mm.
The probing function further completes the KSCAN’s breadth, enabling professionals to obtain high levels of detail.
Whether it’s used on small parts or large workpieces, the KSCAN probe easily acquires holes, planes, edges, hidden points, and other tough geometries where it is impossible to place markers.
ScanViewer is proprietary Scantech software with numerous functionalities that can suit most applications. These include pipe measurement, hole detection, deformation detection, smart edge inspection, and GD&T, delivering effective, full-scale measurement solutions for product development and part inspection.
