Metrology 3D scanners

Metrology is the practice of using precision equipment to obtain measurements of an object. It is typically employed for reverse engineering or during quality control, enabling users to compare the dimensions of a physical object with the dimensions of its original design while checking for errors or deformations.

Coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) or general-purpose 3D scanners can be used to perform metrology operations. CMMs are highly accurate, while 3D scanners capture more information and can process larger objects.
