Construction 3D printing

Some of the largest 3D printers in existence can be filed under the category of construction 3D printers: machines designed to extrude huge volumes of concrete or other materials.

Although their operating principles are similar to FFF printers, construction printers may have large gantry frames or robotic arms to accommodate a very large build envelope and enable the printing of walls, bridges, and other structures.

While the efficiency of construction 3D printing is a matter of debate, advocates argue for their ability to fabricate affordable or emergency housing.
