1. Infographic release: The AM hardware landscape 2023

First, we’ve just released our first-ever AM landscape infographic, mapping over 500 active hardware manufacturers by materials, technology, and more. Despite current M&As and consolidation news, AM remains a fragmented industry, so we created this infographic to offer a comprehensive view of all active manufacturers in each market segment.

It was quite a challenge to put together (and we’re all fed up with aligning logos in Figma!) but I’m super proud of how the team pulled together to accomplish this. And the result is quite gorgeous 🤩

Here are some key findings:

• Polymer 3D printers unsurprisingly dominate the scene, with a whopping 57% of AM hardware manufacturers offering them.

• When it comes to metal AM, laser powder bed fusion technology is the go-to choice for 50% of manufacturers.

• Companies making headlines for potential mergers also tend to have extensive technology portfolios. For instance, 3D Systems boasts an impressive range of 9 print technologies while Desktop Metal and Stratasys are hot on their heels with 6 and 5 technologies, respectively.

2. Product updates: introducing Manufacturer accounts

Today, we’re also announcing several updates to our AM hardware marketplace. We’ve updated our industrial 3D printer database to include the latest ASTM standards and we’re introducing new filtering options in our online catalog. Now you can refine your search results by country, technology, feedstock format, print materials, and more.

But that’s not all. On top of that, we’re launching Manufacturer accounts, allowing OEMs to manage and optimize their presence on our platform. These accounts enable AM hardware manufacturers to showcase their products, customize their company profiles, and reach professional AM buyers on Aniwaa through tailored membership plans (free/paid).
