This 3D printing technique, similar to welding, involves a metal powder feed that facilitates complete machining without a processing chamber for up to 10 x faster production than using a powder bed: the melted material is directly jetted on the future 3D part. The flexible switching between laser and milling operations allows for the direct machining of areas that could no longer be reached on a finished part.
