CONCR3DE Armadillo Black overview
The Armadillo Black is a stone 3D printer produced by CONCR3DE. CONCR3DE is a 3D printer manufacturer based in the Netherlands. The Armadillo Black was released in 2019 and uses Binder Jetting 3D printing technology. This professional 3D printer offers a build volume of 370 x 290 x 250 mm (upgradable to 450 x 450 x 250 mm).
Armadillo Black is a production machine that comes with CONCR3DE’s unique stone powders, based on either marble, granite, or limestone. Refractory powder is also available for molding applications. After printing, parts are dipped in water and ultimately reach a strength of 23 MPa in compression, which is comparable with some types of concrete and stronger than brickwork.
Additionally, parts are alkali, heat, and UV resistant. This means parts find their use, besides prototyping, in industries such as construction, restoration, some casting applications, consumer products, and packaging.
Printers run on custom NOAH software with which multiple parts can be loaded and nested into a single print. The software then slices all parts simultaneously and prints them. It doesn’t run on G-code but rather a stack of images, meaning it is very simple and parts can be oriented in any direction.
