ExOne company is an expert in the Binder Jetting 3D printing technology applied to sand, metal and ceramics materials. The Binder Jetting technology is an additive manufacturing process in which a liquid binding agent is selectively deposited to join powder particles. First the printhead selectively dispense micro droplets of binder into the material powder to glue the particles together. The job box, where the 3D printed object is fabricated, then lowers and another layer of powder is spread for the process to start over. Layer after layer, the 3D printed part is fabricated.
The ExOne M-Flex creates parts from metal or ceramics powders. Those 3D printed parts are typically cured, sintered and sometimes infiltrated with another material, depending on the application. Hot isostatic pressing may be employed to achieve high densities in solid metals.
