Matter and Form Bevel review

The Matter and Form Bevel is a 3D scanner app for smartphones made by Matter and Form, a manufacturer based in Canada. The app requires a small extension to operate, that simply plugs and connects to the smartphone through the headphone jack. This 3D scanner app is compatible with both iOS and Android devices.

The device uses an eye-safe laser to capture scale and geometric detail, while the smartphone’s camera captures color, texture and other details.

This smartphone 3D scanner is currently not able to generate 360° 3D scans.

Bevel main features

  • Fast 3D scanning: it only takes a few seconds to capture an object in 3D.
  • Prolonged battery life: the Bevel plug-in can operate for a full day and can stay on standby for 11 days.
  • Easy to use: the app is easy to use on both iPhones and Android devices.

Bevel price

The 3D scanning app is free to download. However, the device is priced at $89 and is available in either black or white.
