The Renishaw RenAM 500M is an industrial 3D printer made by Renishaw, a manufacturer based in the UK.

Renishaw RenAM 500M 3D printing process

This Renishaw industrial 3D printer uses the Selective Laser Melting (SLM) 3D printing technology. This SLM technology consists of melting and fusing metallic powders with a powerful laser beam. Once a layer of solid metal is created, the tray holding the 3D print is lowered and powder is layered on top. Layer after layer the object is 3D printed, until completion. The Renishaw RenAM 500M has a 500 W ytterbium fiber laser.

The RenAM 500M has a higher level of automation compared to the more flexible Renishaw AM250 and Renishaw AM 400 platforms. This industrial 3D printer features an automated powder sieving and recirculation, which reduces the need for manual handling and exposure to materials.
