3D body scanning
3D body scanners are large, stationary pieces of equipment used to generate a 3D scan of a human body. Body scanners have a range of uses, including digital tailoring for fashion and retail users, posture analysis for sports and healthcare users, and full 3D capture for animation, virtual reality, or the 3D printing of custom figurines.
3D body scanners may use photogrammetry and/or structured light technology and typically comprise a fixed platform coupled with roving capture devices or a large number of fixed-position cameras. Prices can range from tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
